Dawn

Windy and sleepless night

we err aimlessly

in the slumbering town

the squares are half lit and empty

city lamps cast

their lights and shadows

on the silent canals

of dark waters

For an instant I wonder

what would happen

if the sea broke in

and waters rose

drowning the land

but soon I shiver in my coat

hiding my hands and my ideas

tightly in my pockets

We head toward a forest, a lake

darkness recedes in the sky

leaving place to a dark blue turning lighter

and as soon as we reach the lake

hues of orange color up the clouds

in a celestial battle

of blues and orange

perfectly mirrored

by the body of water

At the end gray wins

and pours a shower

over our heads

while we seek shelter

under the closest thickets
